Legendary arts!
Barney Bentall performing on stage, I was the lighting director for this show and just so happened to be the second time I have had the pleasure of working with Barney Bentall and his legendary hearts!
Zap Ya!
Here we have Alfie Zappacosta playing his heart out, a true performer I have never seen so many middle aged women crying their eyes out at the front of the stage for him!
Sonny Rhodes
Mr Sonny Rhodes, playing at the Komasket Music Festival this guy was great and he played a mean slide guitar.
Buffy Saint Marie also played that year, it was a pleasure to work with such down to earth artists who get their audiences involved.

Ground control?
I took this picture, its a blue orb in the sky, I changed it to black and white to see the shape of the object better... and um ya the whole world is a stage so it somewhat relates.
Sony Board
This was the Sony Digital console in studio A, it's likely still there and it's sole purpose was to teach people how to use a digital console, it was really terrible and although the faders were awesome because they were motorized and had some on board processing I avoided this board like the plague because it had a tendency to fail to read your floppy disk at all the best moments.
Mixing monitors
2008 mixing monitors at the Canada Day Festivities on the old Yamaha board which was later traded for a Tascam digital console.

Feet First in Peachland
Chilliwack Performing in Peachland
I had a lot of fun designing the lighting plot for this show and running the lights during the event, the highlight of the night for me had to be when they played the song "My Girl" such a classic!

Somebody call Nine One One!
A few more shots from the Sean Kingston show in Kamloops.
The whole arena was packed end to end with fans going insane, it was a really energizing show one of my favorites for sure!
Fire Burning on that dance floor!
Here is a short video of Sean Kingston playing at the arena in Kamloops, aside from the bouncy camera shots it shows some of the lighting I do for concerts.
Muli-Mics
Micing up a amp in the iso booth, we decided to try lots of mics and compare both placement and sound quality.
I think in the end I ended up mixing the shure 58 and shure 57 together to get a full, crunchy sound that I was looking for.
Rarely Earth
Henry Piovesan one of my mentors at Audio Engineering school, here he is playing the Hammond B3 organ at Rare Earth where I have been a tech for the last 3 years and the Lighting Director for in 2009 and 2010.
Buddy Guy playing his heart out, he was the headlining act in 2009.
In a side note a stage hand knocked over a Leko light on stage beside the drummer, and when Buddy Guy came down and walked through the crowd playing his guitar I ran to the stage to fix the light and and just passed him on my way back to my lighting console, just in time for him to come back on stage!
Jimmy Bowskill was one of the more upbeat and exciting acts on stage, playing double guitars and generally rocking out with energy that uplifted everyone!
Blue People are People too!
Here we have a couple of pictures from the Blue Man Group at Prospera place in Kelowna.
A rarely seen angle here behind the monitor console during the show and another picture of the stage being set up with the line array and lighting rigged and ready for their elaborate stage setup.
They also had these really awesome ghost buster style backpacks backstage but I never saw them being used, once I connect my other hard drive I will upload a picture of them!

RazzMaTazz!
Nazareth at the (former) Beaverdell Hotel
This was such a fun event, I designed the lighting plot, setup and focused all my lights thinking I was going to be busking the lighting for their show and to my surprise they brought their lighting guy from Ireland with them in the bus! So after running lights for the opening acts I enjoyed watching a true veteran run my lighting rig!

Stage Line in action
Stage line 100 show again, this time at the Vernon Speedway, on stage we have the Cruzeros opening for Prairie Oyster.
Here we have your basic 48 K of Conventional lighting set for some good old fashioned busking lighting for a country music night!
I will try to track down some more pictures from the night however as most technicians know when your working the lighting or audio board you seldom have time for photographs!

Welcome to the Stage Spot, my name is Max and I work as an Audio Engineer and Live Production Technician.
This blog is intended to remember old projects and good times and to move forward as well. I will keep this page updated with photos from shows and some other fun technical stuff as time allows.
Enjoy and may the show go on!
